populationSaudi Arabia“This study aims to explore the correlation between specific genetic variations (SNPs) in the PDCD1 (rs2227981) and LAG3 (rs12313899) genes and the likelihood of developing AML in the Saudi population. Material and methods: total of 98 Saudi AML patients and 131 healthy controls were genotyped for the PDCD1 rs2227981 and LAG3 rs12313899 polymorphisms using TaqMan genotyping assays. Conclusions: This study provides evidence for the association of the PDCD1 rs2227981 polymorphism with an increased risk for AML in the Saudi population.”0.95saudi_context_rules_v1
populationSaudi Arabia“Association between Polymorphism rs61876744 in PNPLA2 Gene and Keratoconus in a Saudi Cohort. The genetic etiology of Keratoconus (KC) in Middle Eastern Arabs of Saudi origin is still unclear. A recent genome-wide study identified two significant loci in the region of PNPLA2 (rs61876744) and CSNK1E (rs138380) for KC that may be associated with KC in the Saudi population. Thus, we investigated the possible association of polymorphisms rs61876744, rs138380, rs429358, rs7412, and APOE genotypes in KC patients of the Saudi population. This study included 98 KC cases and 167 controls. Our results suggest that polymorphism rs6187644 in PNPLA2 might be associated with KC in the Middle Eastern Arabs of Saudi origin but warrant a large-scale association analysis at this locus.”0.95saudi_context_rules_v1
populationSaudi Arabia“Herein, we sought to elucidate the genetic causes of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and identify genetic variants associated with CKD and related traits in Saudi kidney disease patients. A total of 1,098 Saudi participants were recruited for the study, including 534 patients with ESRD and 564 healthy controls.”0.95saudi_context_rules_v1
populationSaudi Arabia“Association SOD2 and PON1 Gene Polymorphisms with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in Saudi Women. In this study, we investigate the associations between superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2) (rs4880) and paraoxonase 1 (PON1) (rs705379) polymorphisms in PCOS in Saudi women. The study included 99 females with PCOS and 98 healthy women as a control. SOD2 and PON1 polymorphisms may be genetic factors that affect the occurrence of PCOS in Saudi females.”0.95saudi_context_rules_v1
